The woman received a call from scammers claiming that her son had caused a serious traffic accident and was in custody, requiring a five-figure bail for his release. Believing the scam, she gathered several valuable pieces of jewelry, worth a total of five figures.
The suspect was waiting on the sidewalk opposite the König Museum on Adenauerallee in Bonn, where the elderly woman handed over the stolen jewelry. The suspect was recorded on video surveillance during the wait, outside the Palais Schaumburg. The same individual was also seen on the Palais Schaumburg's video surveillance during the wait.
