In the heart of Dortmund, a mysterious incident unfolded on September 6, 2025, at the Kaufland market on Bornstraße. According to the Dortmund Police, an unknown man stole items worth several hundred euros from a car parked there at around 4:30 PM.

The victim, a 33-year-old man from Castrop-Rauxel, had locked his Mercedes and entered the store, leaving his vehicle unattended. However, upon returning, he found an unidentified man rummaging through his car. The man fled after a brief physical altercation, leaving behind a gym bag containing a technical device, believed to be used for disrupting or intercepting radio signals.

The police are urging anyone with information regarding this incident (Case No.: 0775) to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact the Dortmund Criminal Investigation Department at 0231/132-7441 or via email at [email protected]. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 40 years old, standing between 170cm and 175cm tall, of normal build, of Eastern European appearance, bald, and wearing a blue T-shirt. As of now, no further details about the stolen items or the suspect have been disclosed.

The Dortmund Police have conducted extensive search measures for the suspect, but so far, these efforts have proven unsuccessful. The public's help is crucial in solving this case.
