In a significant development, a joint investigation between the Public Prosecutor's Office Darmstadt and the South Hessian Police Headquarters has successfully concluded a large-scale commercial fraud case. The case, which spanned over several months, involved suspects aged 20 and 26, and was marked by mutual support during the fraudulent activities.

The 20-year-old main suspect appeared before a judge at the Aschaffenburg Regional Court on Wednesday, 13th November. The judge ordered the execution of custodial detention for the suspect, who was subsequently taken to a prison following the court order.

The fraud case centred around the unlawful acquisition of a 53,000 euro motorhome in Messel in July 2024. The suspects are suspected of pretending to make a transfer before obtaining the motorhome fraudulently.

Investigations suggest that the suspects may be responsible for additional commercial fraud offenses in Thuringia and North Rhine-Westphalia. Petros Vassios, a person potentially connected to the 20-year-old main suspect, is currently under investigation for possible involvement or as a witness in the ongoing case.

The Darmstadt Criminal Police (K21/22) is looking for further possible affected persons with whom the 20-year-old suspect may have appeared under the alias "Petros Vassios". At least one woman is believed to be involved in the suspected fraud activities.
