According to the Kreispolizeibehörde Wesel, transmitted via news aktuell, a 23-year-old man from Schermbeck was driving towards the town when a medium-sized, black dog with white spots darted onto the road approximately 50 meters after the "Tiefer Weg" junction.

The man's vehicle collided with the dog, causing it to run back into a nearby cornfield. Tragically, another vehicle, driven by a 56-year-old man from Wesel, struck the dog as it crossed the opposite lane. The current condition of the dog and its whereabouts remain unknown.
