Authorities are seeking individuals who may have observed a stabbing incident involving an American national in Dresden.
In the early hours of Sunday, a 21-year-old man of American origin was injured in a knife attack on tram line 7 in Dresden. The incident occurred at the Neustaedter Markt stop, in the direction of Gorbitz.
According to reports, the young man intervened when two men were harassing women on the tram. One of the perpetrators injured the young man with a knife during the altercation. The injured man was taken to the hospital as a result of the attack.
A police spokesman told the Bild newspaper that there is no danger to the young man's life. However, the police in Dresden have no information on the severity of the young man's injury.
One of the men involved in the attack, aged 21, has been apprehended near the scene. The police are investigating him and the other unidentified suspect for dangerous bodily harm.
The other suspected perpetrator involved in the attack is an unknown male accomplice. A 21-year-old Syrian man was arrested but later released because no detention grounds were found, while the second suspect remains unidentified and at large.
The police are seeking witnesses, particularly among the passengers on the tram. The Dresden News reported the incident.
