A fire incident occurred in the small town of Walbeck, Mansfeld-South Harz district, at approximately 1:35 PM on Wednesday. The fire, which started from a 63-year-old man's gardening activities on the sidewalk of his property, quickly spread to an adjacent single-family home, engulfing the roof.

The fire was controlled by the volunteer fire departments from Hettstedt, Gerbstedt, Burgörner, and Walbeck. Six fire trucks were on site to control the fire, and around 30 personnel were involved in the firefighting efforts. Fortunately, at the time of the fire outbreak, no one was in the building, and no one was injured.

The house is currently uninhabitable due to the fire damage. Removing all roof tiles was necessary to extinguish remaining hotspots, resulting in the complete destruction of the roof. There was significant water damage to all living spaces due to the firefighting efforts.

The estimated damage from the fire is approximately 150,000 to 200,000 euros. The Hettstedt Ordnungsamt and the responsible building authority were also involved in the aftermath of the fire.
