In the Omsk region of Russia, the bear hunting season has officially opened, running from August 1 to November 30. A total of 537 permits for bear hunting are expected to be distributed, with the allocation varying across different districts.

The Tevriz District has been allocated 29 bear permits, making it one of the districts with the highest number of permits. The Tyukalinsky District, another district in the region, has been allocated more than 20 permits, with 22 to be exact. Ust-Ishim District has been allocated 18 permits, and Lower Omsk District has been given 2. Meanwhile, Murock District has been allocated 4 permits, and Tar District has been given 8.

Access to hunting in these grounds is provided on a rotational basis to ensure a balanced ecosystem. It's worth noting that only 61 permits for bear shooting were issued in total, with many winners of the lottery declining the opportunity to participate.

The distribution of permits is done through a lottery system. However, in certain districts of the Omsk region, there is an option to obtain a hunting permit without a lottery system in publicly accessible hunting grounds.

The cost of a bear hunting license is 3000 rubles, in addition to a state fee of 650 rubles and a special fee (depending on the purpose of the hunt). Winning the lottery is not enough to participate in the hunt; these additional fees must be paid.

It was previously reported that 2465 bears were counted in the Omsk region. However, there has been an issue in the north of the region, where bears have been approaching human settlements, destroying livestock, and even attacking hunters.

The Omsk hunting authority has re-invited the reserves who came in second in the lottery, giving them another chance to participate in the bear hunt. Despite the challenges, the Omsk region continues to manage its bear population responsibly, ensuring a sustainable hunting season for those who have been granted permits.
