On the 28th of July, Schloss Proschwitz near Meißen will open its doors to visitors, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and nature.

Located at Heiliger Grund 2, 01662 Meißen OT Proschwitz, the castle complex, built between 1701 and 1704, promises a day filled with experiences.

For those interested in the art of falconry, a view of the vineyards, Meißen Castle, and the Elbe Valley can be enjoyed as a falconry is located on the grounds of Schloss Proschwitz. Between events, a large bird is often brought into the castle courtyard for all to see.

Bird of prey demonstrations will take place at 12 pm and 2 pm, providing an opportunity to learn more about these magnificent creatures.

The castle's vinothek is also open for visitors, offering a chance to taste Proschwitzer wines and sparkling wines, as well as various culinary specialties.

Piano music performances will enchant visitors in the castle's ballroom at 11 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm, featuring compositions by Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin.

A vineyard hike, "Stories from Saxon and Meissen wine", will take place, with registration required at 0157-88496035.

A wine, antique, and garden market will also be held from 10 am to 6 pm. Experts will present rarities from Meissen porcelain, historical views, jewelry, pictures, postcards, and collectibles. Interested traders can register for the event at www.flohmarkt-sachsen.de.

For those looking to explore the area, two tours are available. One starts at 11 am at the foot of the "Proschwitzer Katzenstufen", while the other begins at 1 pm at the castle entrance. Public transport to the event involves taking a bus to the "Katzenstufen" from Meißen train station (information available at www.vvo-online.de).

Admission to the event is 4 Euro, 3 Euro with an SZ-Card, and free for children up to 12 years. The stand fee for the market is 30 € for a 3-meter stand, with an additional 10 € for each running meter.
