The Chicago Cubs continued their dominance over the Colorado Rockies, securing a season sweep with a hard-fought 4-3 victory at Coors Field on Sunday. The game saw a sellout crowd of 47,394 witness an exciting contest between two talented teams.

In the first game of the week, Matthew Boyd of the Cubs faced off against Tanner Gordon of the Rockies. The second game featured Logan Webb of the Giants against Kyle Freeman of the Rockies, while the third game pitted Carson Whisenhunt of the Giants against Chase Dollander of the Rockies.

The game on Sunday was a battle between Boyd and Gordon. Despite a strong performance by Gordon, who leads the Rockies in wins with five, the Cubs emerged victorious. Gordon is just one quality start away from tying German Marquez for second on the team in wins.

The Rockies started McCade Brown in this game, marking his second career start. Brown put up a valiant effort, allowing three runs in four-plus innings. Javier Assad, the Cubs' starter, had a less successful outing, allowing three runs before being relieved.

The game was filled with exciting moments. Yanqiuel Fernandez scored a run for the Rockies in a controversial play in the bottom of the second. Ian Happ's double scored Tucker to put Chicago ahead, and Kyle Tucker's run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning was the deciding factor.

The Rockies' offense was not without their contributions. Mickey Moniak tripled and scored a run for the Rockies, cutting the Cubs' lead to 4-3. However, it was not enough to secure a win for the home team.

The Rockies pitchers put three Cubs on the bases in the second inning and four times overall. Orlando Arcia replaced Bernabel in the game due to a knee bruise and quad injury.
