Battling Blazes: North Dortmund's Fire suppression Efforts
A fire broke out at Oesterholzstraße, Dortmund North district, near a youth welfare facility, at 17:00 on an unspecified day. The Dortmund Fire Department, along with several other emergency services, responded swiftly to the incident.
Upon arrival, firefighters found parts of the building's facade already ablaze. The fire spread from waste bins to the building, causing extensive smoke damage to adjacent buildings. Fortunately, all residents of the building were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Approximately 60 firefighters from the voluntary fire brigade (Units 25 and 29), Fire Stations 1 (Central) and 2 (Eving), the command team, the psychological support team (PSNV), and the emergency services were involved in the firefighting efforts. The fire was extinguished using several hoses.
