In a thrilling match played at the Allianz Arena, FC Bayern Munich Women's team opened their Bundesliga campaign with a home win against Bayer Leverkusen. The final score was 2-0, with goals scored by Vanessa Gilles in the 76th minute and Klara Bühl in the 77th minute.

Before the match, Leverkusen's coach, Roberto Pätzold, expressed his ambition to play a great game in Munich. However, it was Bayern who took control in the second half, turning the tide in their favour.

The first half was a tight affair, with Leverkusen playing better and executing a secure defensive game. They combined well on offense, but creativity and flair were lacking, and the star lineup struggled to find direction. Bayern, on the other hand, started slowly, with few chances to score.

Lilla Turanyi had a chance to score for Bayern but was unlucky not to get a penalty after being pulled by Magdalena Eriksson. Leverkusen's Ruby Grant missed the best chance for them after 20 minutes, failing to beat Bayern goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic.

In the second half, Bayern's coach, José Barcala, brought on Klara Bühl and Pernille Harder in an attempt to improve the team's performance. The change paid off, as Bühl scored two goals in quick succession, with the first one set up by Jovana Damnjanovic.

Despite Bayern taking control of the game, Leverkusen still lacked ideas in the penalty area. Carlotta Wamser, a new signing from Eintracht Frankfurt, was particularly dangerous for Leverkusen from the right defense, but her constant threat was not enough to trouble Bayern's defense.

Bayern's injured player Giulia Gwinn expressed concern about the team's performance during a half-time interview, but the team managed to turn things around in the second half. The stadium announcer had to play the goal song twice in quick succession due to Bühl's two goals.

The match marked a new record crowd for a women's soccer match in Germany, with 57,762 spectators in attendance. The FC Bayern Munich women's team had prepared several key player signings for the season, including Barbara Dunst from Eintracht Frankfurt, Vanessa Gilles from Angel City FC (loaned to Olympique Lyon), and Stine Ballisager from AC Florenz. Lena Oberdorf, though already with Bayern, was returning from a severe knee injury and made her competitive debut for Bayern only recently in the Supercup against VfL Wolfsburg. These new or returning players were intended to strengthen the squad, with Oberdorf playing a notable leadership role in the midfield at the season's first Bundesliga match.

Despite the victory, Bayern's coach, José Barcala, looked frustrated on the sidelines during the first half, indicating that there is still room for improvement for the team as they continue their Bundesliga campaign.
