Alba Berlin, the German basketball powerhouse, is gearing up for an exciting season with a series of preseason victories and a strong showing in international competition.

This week, the team will participate in the "Costa del Sol" tournament in Malaga, Spain, where they will face off against Unicaja Malaga and Real Madrid. The tournament takes place this Friday and Saturday.

The squad, coached by Pedro Calles, includes some familiar faces and new additions. Boogie Ellis, Norris Agbakoko, and youth players were part of the team that took on Unicaja Malaga and Real Madrid. Joining them was guest player Bennet Hundt and the recently signed J'Wan Roberts, who made his debut in the game.

Captain Martin Hermannsson rejoined the team but did not play against Malaga, as he is currently with the Icelandic national team at the European Championship. As a result, Alba Berlin played with only nine professionals.

The team's strong performance was evident in their previous preseason test match against Löwen Braunschweig, which they won with a score of 84:69. In their most recent match, played in the sold-out MBS Arena in Oranienburg, Alba Berlin defeated Veolia Towers Hamburg with a convincing score of 107:74.

Moses Wood scored 15 points for Alba Berlin, but it was Boogie Ellis who topped the scoreboard with 19 points. Roberts made a solid debut, contributing to the team's success.

The first competitive match for Alba Berlin is at home against promoted Trier on October 3. With their strong preseason performances and the addition of new talent, Alba Berlin looks poised for another successful season.
