Bicyclist fatally struck by truck in FW Hannover accident
In the heart of Hannover, a tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Ada-Lessing-Straße and Langenforther Straße, where a traffic accident involving a truck and a cyclist took place.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the regional control center promptly alerted the fire brigade and emergency medical services. A fire and rescue service unit from Fire Station 5, along with emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, eight vehicles and 21 personnel from the fire and rescue services found the cyclist, a 62-year-old male, injured and in need of immediate attention. Fortunately, the cyclist was not trapped, allowing for immediate medical care. The truck driver was also attended to by the fire department at the scene.
Despite the best efforts of the fire department and emergency medical services, the cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and later passed away in a Hanover hospital. The injured cyclist was then transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The police have now taken over the scene and are responsible for further investigations regarding the traffic accident. The fire and rescue services have since completed their operations at the scene.
