Bike Theft Prevention in Moers and Neukirchen-Vluyn: Learn to Code Your Bike Securely - Complimentary Coding Sessions in September and October
The Circular Police Department Wesel is offering a free bike coding service to secure bicycles in September and October 2025. This service is available at several locations in Moers and Neukirchen-Vluyn.
Cyclists can participate in the bike coding service by presenting their ID and proof of ownership. The process involves attaching a barcode sticker to the bike, linked to its frame number. This barcode serves as a deterrent for thieves, even if it can be removed with effort.
The crucial aspect of the bike coding service is the registration of the frame number. This registration helps the police to identify and recover stolen bicycles more easily. The service is available for both classic and e-bikes.
In Moers, the bike coding service will be available at the Police Station Yard, Asberger Straße 5, for the fourth time. In addition, it will be offered at the same location for the first time. For those in Neukirchen-Vluyn, the service is available at the Police Service Building, Niederrheinallee 130, and at Sparkasse, Siebertstraße 2.
Media representatives who wish to cover this event can contact the Circular Police Department Wesel Press Office at 0281 / 107-1050, 0281 / 107-1055, or [email protected] for inquiries.
The bike coding service aims to provide an additional layer of security for cyclists in the region. By registering their bicycles, cyclists can increase the chances of recovering their stolen bikes if they are unfortunately stolen.
The Kreispolizeibehörde Wesel encourages all cyclists to take advantage of this free service and secure their bicycles. For more information, please contact the Circular Police Department Wesel Press Office or visit the specified locations in Moers and Neukirchen-Vluyn during the service period.
