Blaze Erupts at Dresden's Small Haulage Company

On the morning of August 11, 2025, a small truck caught fire on the A17 Prague-DD highway at the Gorbitz exit, just outside Dresden. The incident involved the Fire Department Dresden, who were promptly informed about the spreading flames.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also reached parts of the surrounding vegetation, with an adjacent bush also ablaze. Two teams in respiratory protection fought the fire using two hoses and foam.

Fortunately, the three vehicle occupants were able to escape in time and were unharmed. The on and off ramps of Dresden-Gorbitz were completely closed during the extinguishing work.

The police have initiated investigations into the cause of the fire, but as of now, the exact cause remains unknown. No further details about the truck or its contents were provided in the initial report.

A total of 30 personnel from the Old Town Fire and Rescue Station, the neighborhood fire departments of Kaitz and Lockwitz, and the B-service were deployed to handle the incident.
