Blue Jays Suffer 4-1 Defeat at Hands of Brewers.

In a closely contested matchup, the Milwaukee Brewers emerged victorious over the Toronto Blue Jays with a score of 4-1 on Saturday.

Bo Bichette extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a single in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Brewers' win. Isaac Collins added a double in the same inning, contributing to the Brewers' final run.

Starting pitcher for the Blue Jays, Kevin Gausman, delivered a strong performance, pitching for seven innings, giving up one run and four hits, while stranding eight runners. However, it was Jeff Hoffman who took the loss, struggling in the ninth inning and giving up the Brewers' fourth and final run.

Hoffman has been facing some challenges this season, with a 5.11 earned run average in 59 games and seven blown saves. Despite these struggles, John Schneider, Blue Jays manager, has expressed his continued faith in Hoffman, stating that he remains the team's closer.

Schneider also mentioned the need to find solutions for several bullpen issues, including pitch selection and positioning. If Hoffman is called upon, he will be the closing pitcher for the Blue Jays on the next game day Tuesday.

Quinn Priester pitched for six innings for the Brewers, allowing an unearned run, five hits, and striking out three. Jared Koenig, Nick Mears, Aaron Ashby, and Abner Uribe followed Priester on the mound, with Uribe earning his fourth save of the season.

In a rare occurrence, Jackson Chourio and Christian Yelich hit back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning. A sacrifice fly by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. gave the Blue Jays a brief lead in the sixth inning, but it was not enough to secure a win.

In the final game of the series, Max Scherzer (5-2) will start for the Blue Jays, while Brandon Woodruff (5-1) is expected to start for the Brewers. Yariel Rodriguez got the final out to end the game.
