RBC BlueBay Asset Management Expands Global Equity Team with Swetha Ramachandran
RBC BlueBay Asset Management, a leading global investment firm, has announced the appointment of Swetha Ramachandran as a global equities portfolio trader for the consumer sector. This marks the second portfolio manager role added to the global equity team this year.
Swetha Ramachandran brings over 25 years of industry experience to her new role. She joins RBC BlueBay Asset Management from Artemis Investment Management, where she was the lead manager of the Artemis Funds (Lux) - Leading Consumer Brands fund. Notably, this fund was liquidated on 31 July.
Prior to her time at Artemis, Ramachandran worked at Morgan Stanley and covered consumer stocks at AllianceBernstein earlier in her career.
Based in London, Ramachandran reports to Habib Subjally, the head of global equity and managing director and senior portfolio manager at RBC BlueBay Asset Management. Subjally oversees the global equity team, which serves both institutional and wholesale investors and currently manages US$29.2 billion in assets under management globally.
Habib Subjally commented on the appointment, saying, "Swetha's extensive experience and deep knowledge of the consumer sector will be a valuable addition to our team. Her appointment signals our deep commitment to and client demand for the global equity asset class."
This appointment follows the addition of Jonathan Crown to the global equity team in June. RBC BlueBay Asset Management is a part of RBC Global Asset Management, representing the non-North American operations of the firm.
Ramachandran's appointment underscores RBC BlueBay Asset Management's commitment to expanding its global equity capabilities and providing clients with the best possible investment solutions.
