BMW officially reveals the iX3 electric SUV model
The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as BMW prepares to launch its latest innovation, the BMW iX3. This Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is set to make its debut in Europe in spring 2026, followed by its arrival in the USA in the summer of the same year.
The BMW iX3 is a testament to BMW's commitment to sustainable mobility. Powered by two electric motors, it delivers a combined power of 345 kW/469 PS and an impressive 645 Newton meters of torque. With a range of up to 805 kilometers, this electric powerhouse promises to redefine long-distance travel.
But the BMW iX3 isn't just about power and range. It's also about design. The vehicle features a new design language, characterised by a narrow, slim kidney grille, a distinctive four-eye front, clear surfaces, and the classic Hofmeister kink. The interior is structured and minimalist, with a focus on driver orientation and comfort. Textile surfaces and ambient lighting create a cozy atmosphere, while the redesigned seats, steering wheel, center console, and rear seat bank offer unparalleled comfort.
The BMW iX3's cockpit is shaped by the new BMW Panoramic iDrive, which is based on the Operating System X. This system offers an immersive, customizable experience via My Modes, ensuring a personalised driving experience for every driver.
Charging the BMW iX3 is a breeze. Standard AC charging is at 11 kW, with an optional 22 kW capacity. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes only 21 minutes. At 800-volt charging stations, the BMW iX3 can achieve up to 400 kW charging power, adding enough energy for approximately 372 kilometers in just ten minutes.
The BMW iX3 measures 4.78 meters in length and boasts an impressive drag coefficient of 0.24. It also offers a cargo volume of 520 to 1,750 liters, with an additional 58 liters in the frunk.
The BMW subsidiary responsible for producing the new electric-powered SAV is the BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary, a newly established facility focused exclusively on electric vehicle production starting in autumn 2025. The new BMW iX3 will be produced at this plant.
The market launch of the BMW iX3 is scheduled for fall 2025, with prices starting at around 69,000 euros. With a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 kilograms, the BMW iX3 is not just a vehicle for the future, but a versatile companion for everyday life. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h, making it a sports car at heart.
In conclusion, the BMW iX3 is more than just a vehicle. It's a statement of intent from BMW, a commitment to a sustainable future, and a testament to the power of innovation. Get ready to embrace the electric revolution with the BMW iX3.
