Bomb Disposal Operation Successfully Concluded

On Tuesday, 02.09.2025, a 125 kg American World War II-era aerial bomb was discovered on Johannesbergstraße. The bomb, of World War II origin, was found at a construction site.
The affected evacuation area, approximately 400 meters around the location, will require the evacuation of around 1,870 people. The access roads to the evacuation area will be completely closed off from around 16:15.

The defusal operation is expected to commence at 16:15 and will be carried out by the head of the explosive ordnance disposal unit, whose identity is not publicly disclosed. The defusal of the bomb is scheduled for 19:00, and the operation is expected to be completed.
