Border Control Enforcement Unveils Caught Traffic Violators (at BPOLI LUD)
In a series of traffic control checks in and around Goerlitz, Germany, the Federal Police arrested several individuals with outstanding fines and convictions for traffic offences.
The first arrest was made at a motorway control point near Goerlitz, where a 27-year-old Slovak citizen was stopped for driving without a license, a conviction he had previously incurred at the Cottbus Local Court. Despite the outstanding fine, the Slovak citizen managed to avoid payment until he was pulled over. However, in the presence of the officers, he transferred 1,581.00 euros to the court's account at a payment terminal.
In a more serious turn of events, a 34-year-old Polish citizen was arrested at the Goerlitz city bridge. Wanted by the Goerlitz Public Prosecutor's Office, branch office Bautzen, for driving without a license, he was also subject to a remand warrant from the Local Court of Goerlitz, suspecting him of theft with weapons. Unable to pay a fine of 1,600.00 euros for driving without a license, he was taken to a detention facility.
Three other individuals, all Polish citizens, were also arrested as part of these temporary border controls. A 46-year-old was imprisoned shortly after his arrest due to lack of funds to avoid substitute imprisonment, owing 750.00 euros to the Frankfurt court due to a verdict by the Dillenburg Local Court for leaving the scene of an accident without permission. Another 46-year-old owed 2,000.00 euros to the Bayreuth Local Court for driving under the influence at a motorway service area.
The Federal Police testing center, where these checks took place, is located at Zittauer Straße 104, 02763 Zittau, Germany. The centre played a crucial role in identifying and apprehending these individuals, ensuring the safety and order on Germany's roads.
While the Slovak citizen successfully avoided paying the outstanding fine for driving without a license, the other individuals faced the consequences of their actions. The authorities continue to enforce traffic laws and maintain order, reminding drivers of their responsibilities on the road.
