Border Controls Uncover Traffic Violators under BPOLI jurisdiction
In the town of Goerlitz, several individuals found themselves in legal trouble this week, as border controls were temporarily reinstated. The Federal Police made a series of arrests, targeting traffic offenders who had failed to comply with court rulings or drive with due care.
One of the individuals arrested was a 46-year-old Pole, who was wanted by the Dillenburg Local Court for leaving the scene of an accident without permission. The man, who owed the court 750.00 euros due to the verdict, was apprehended in the afternoon at the Goerlitz city bridge.
Another individual, a 48-year-old Polish traveler, was arrested in the evening at a highway rest area for driving under the influence. The Bayreuth Local Court had previously imposed a fine of 2,000.00 euros on the man, but he had yet to settle the penalty.
A 34-year-old Polish citizen was also arrested and taken to a detention facility for driving without a license and having an outstanding fine of 1,600.00 euros.
A Slovak (27) was arrested at a highway control point near Goerlitz for driving without a license. The man, who had been avoiding paying an outstanding fine for a driving offense, paid 1,581.00 euros to the court to settle the fine in the presence of the officers.
Another Slovak individual, whose age was not disclosed, had previously been convicted by the Cottbus Local Court for driving without a license. The details of the outstanding fine for this individual were not provided.
The Goerlitz Public Prosecutor's Office, branch office Bautzen, issued a warrant for a Polish citizen. The press spokesman of the Federal Police Directorate Ludwigsdorf, Michael Engler, can provide information about the actions against traffic offenders.
Both the 48-year-old and the 46-year-old lacked the money to avoid substitute detention after their arrests. The 46-year-old Pole was also arrested for a warrant for arrest from the Local Court of Goerlitz for suspicion of theft with weapons.
The arrests serve as a reminder to drivers to comply with traffic laws and court rulings. The Federal Police will continue to enforce the law, ensuring the safety and security of the roads for all users.
