In a series of developments, tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate.

According to Ukrainian border guards, the active phase of the Russian-Belarusian exercises is expected to take place from September 12 to 16. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was hit by the heaviest attack so far, with Russian forces launching at least 810 drones and a dozen missiles overnight. The attacks resulted in at least 5 fatalities and 44 injuries, with a woman and her newborn child among the casualties.

Controversy surrounds the Russian Ministry of Defense's claims about the attacks. While they deny hitting the building of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv, they admit to striking drone facilities and air force support points in Ukraine. However, extensive video footage, imagery, and official Ukrainian reports suggest otherwise.

In the aftermath of these attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed hope for a decisive US response and interest in discussions that could lead to trilateral talks with Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to address the Ukraine conflict. Zelensky met with Trump at the White House after the Alaska summit to discuss a peace deal.

US President Donald Trump has also announced that he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin "very soon." Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation in Ukraine and reiterated his readiness for further sanctions against Russia.

In diplomatic moves, Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has stated that Germany will contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine, although the details remain unspecified.

Amidst these international discussions, American businessman Erik Prince is reportedly seeking business in the Ukrainian drone sector.

Elsewhere, Poland's border guards have found the wreckage of a drone near the border with Belarus, bearing Cyrillic lettering. No military groups posing a threat to Ukraine have been reported on Belarusian territory, according to Ukrainian border guards.

Russia, on the other hand, has been ramping up its military presence. They have taken around 280,000 soldiers under contract since the beginning of the year and are on track to meet their recruitment target of 343,000 by the end of the year.

The Russian invasion is being fought around the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk, with a major offensive expected. Amidst these battles, reports of Russian soldiers killed or wounded continue to pour in, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting 910 casualties in the past 24 hours.

As the situation continues to evolve, the international community watches with bated breath, waiting to see how these developments will shape the future of Ukraine and its relations with Russia.
