Bournemouth Secures Victory over Wolves: Early Tavernier Goal Proves Decisive as Visitors Suffer Second Consecutive Loss, Despite Playing with Ten Men.

In a closely contested match, Marcus Tavernier scored the first goal for AFC Bournemouth in their victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. The smallest team in the Premier League, Bournemouth, secured a much-needed win, ending Wolves' poor August form that has seen them win just one game in the last 22 top-flight games in the month.

The goal came in the 26th minute, with Antoine Semenyo providing the assist. Semenyo received a pass from Tyler Adams and squared it to Tavernier, who converted the chance, albeit a little fortunately as the ball deflected off Emmanuel Agbadou, crashed down off the underside of the bar, and bounced high into the net.

Wolves' captain Toti was sent off for deliberately tripping Evanilson, leaving the team to play with ten men for most of the second half. This disadvantage seemed to favour Bournemouth, who took advantage of the situation to secure the win.

Despite Toti's dismissal, Wolves tried to fight back. Substitute Justin Kluivert had a shot that went wide of the post, and earlier, a volley from Semenyo was saved by Jose Sa, and a shot from Tyler Adams was tipped over by the Wolves goalkeeper.

Andoni Iraola, the head coach of Bournemouth, expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating that he needed more height in his team. Iraola's tactical changes proved effective, with Hugo Bueno replacing David Moller Wolfe and Andre coming on for Bellegarde, providing the necessary physical presence.

David Brooks started the season in mesmerizing form for Wolves, but his impact was limited in this match due to the team's numerical disadvantage. Tavernier, on the other hand, did not get many goals but he did score in the first home game of last season in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, showing that he can rise to the occasion when it matters most.

Wolves have never lost a Premier League match in Dorset, but they are feeling the "dread of August" after their poor record in the month. They will look to bounce back in their next fixture, aiming to end their August woes and secure a much-needed win.
