On the 25th of August, 2025, the district association of the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht - Reason and Justice (BSW) for Unna/Soest was officially established in Werl. The event, which attracted many members and interested parties, marked a significant step forward for the BSW in the region.
Ali Kaya and Dr. Gerrit Heil were elected as the chairpersons of the new district association. Heidrun Lindken and Ute Giesen were elected as deputy chairpersons. Torsten Kasubke from Lünen was appointed as the treasurer.
In his speech, Amid Rabieh, the state chairman and deputy federal chairman of the BSW, described the party as a "consistent peace party." Rabieh's leadership role within the BSW NRW and his involvement in the party’s activities representing regional interests were evident, as he was joined by other key representatives at official BSW events in Dortmund in 2025.

The party advocates for a social society and active municipalities, and it seeks to offer the people in the region a real alternative and to make politics close to the citizens again.
