Bundesliga Opener Ends in a Thrilling Draw for Borussia Dortmund

The game saw a controversial foul by Yan Couto in the DFB-Pokal, but he started for Dortmund nonetheless. Jobe Bellingham made his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund in their midfield. The game also saw a sending off for Filippo Mané for a professional foul (85').

Waldemar Anton scored a goal for St. Pauli (67'), but Dortmund responded with another goal from Julian Brandt (74'). Karim Adeyemi was fouled in the penalty area during a counterattack, but Guirassy missed the subsequent penalty. Waldemar Anton misplayed a long ball, leading to a save for BVB keeper Kobel.

Hamburg sent an early signal in the expected battle against relegation with its brave performance. Despite the disappointing result, Dortmund will look to bounce back in their next match and continue their push for the title.
