Gelsenkirchen Police Arrest Three Suspects for Theft and Flight

On the morning of May 8, 2025, Gelsenkirchen Police arrested three individuals suspected of theft and flight. The incident unfolded the previous day, when the police were dispatched to Festweg in Ückendorf at approximately 11:30 PM due to reports of suspicious individuals.

The suspects were found inside a Fiat at the intersection of Festweg/Ückendorfer Straße. Upon the arrival of the police, the suspects attempted to evade the check by repeatedly moving their vehicle. However, a second patrol car approached from behind, sandwiching the small car. To prevent the Fiat from leaving, police officers positioned their patrol car in front of the suspect's vehicle.

Despite the blockade, the suspects fled at high speed through a residential area on Haidekamp, followed by the patrol cars. The chase ended on Ostpreußenstraße, where the car stopped, and the male driver fled on foot. The 18-year-old Romanian driver, with no fixed address in Germany, was apprehended shortly after on an adjacent field.

Possible stolen goods in the form of old clothes were found in the fleeing vehicle. Investigations have been initiated against the three individuals.
