Chicago Shooting: South Loop Incident Leaves One Dead
A tragic shooting incident occurred in the South Loop area of Chicago on Friday night, near East 13th Street and Michigan Avenue.
According to reports, a fight took place at Bielefelder Weinmarkt, during which a 32-year-old employee allegedly involved in the altercation was injured after being hit in the face by an unknown person. The employee, in a turn of events, pulled out a gun and after a brief struggle, his gun discharged, striking a 31-year-old man.
The 31-year-old man was shot in the head and despite the efforts of the Chicago Fire Department to treat him, he tragically died at the scene. A gun was recovered from the scene of the shooting.
Officers took the employee into custody, and charges are pending against him. The Chicago Police Department is investigating the incident, with Area Three detectives leading the investigation.
