The Calgary Stampeders, currently leading the league with a record of 8-3, are gearing up for their next challenge against the Edmonton Elks on Saturday, September 6, at Commonwealth Stadium.

In this highly anticipated match-up, the Stampeders will be bolstered by the return of veteran player Aaron Crawford, a 38-year-old long snapper, who has been sidelined for nine games due to a knee injury. Crawford, who has played 165 career regular-season games, has yet to win a Grey Cup in his career.

The Stampeders have also made some roster changes, adding Canadian defensive back Kaylyn St-Cyr and American defensive lineman Shaun Peterson Jr. to their active roster this week. Peterson Jr., who has made one defensive tackle, four special teams tackles, and one sack over two career games, will be making his debut for the Stampeders. St-Cyr, who has made 15 special teams tackles over 13 career CFL regular-season games, will add depth to the defensive backfield.

Unfortunately, the Stampeders will be without defensive lineman Anthony Federico and linebacker Morice Blackwell Jr., who have been moved to the six-game injured list (Federico, ankle) and the one-game injured list (Blackwell Jr., knee) respectively.

The Edmonton Elks, who currently have a record of 4-7, will be looking to bounce back after their loss in the Labour Day Classic against the Stampeders last week, where Calgary triumphed with a score of 28-7.

The game will start at 7:00 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 770 CHQR in Calgary and 880 CHED in Edmonton.

The weather forecast in Edmonton is for a high of 27 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. This will be the Stampeders' away game.

Coach Dave Dickenson will lead the Stampeders in this crucial encounter. However, defensive tackle Jaylon Hutchings is listed as a game-time decision due to a groin injury.

As both teams prepare for this exciting clash, fans can look forward to a thrilling night of Canadian Football League action.
