Capturing Your Ultimate Memento: A Must-Have Photograph Souvenir
The city of Nordhorn, located in the heart of Germany's Grafschaft Bentheim region, has introduced 17 new "photo spots" for tourists, aiming to enhance the city's image as a travel destination and provide a memorable experience for visitors.
The collection of special photo motifs in Nordhorn can be further expanded in the future. According to Katrin Sepp from the economic development of the city of Nordhorn, attractive vacation photos shared on social media platforms like Instagram have a significant impact on popular travel and excursion destinations.
Some of the photo spots were identified based on the results of a photo competition in the LEADER region Grafschaft Bentheim, while others were carefully chosen to highlight the most beautiful corners of the city. Most of the photo points have eye-catching signs installed in the ground, indicating an attractive photo motif.
The new photo spots can be easily located using the navigation app Komoot or any common GPS device. Scanning a QR code at each sign takes visitors directly to a website that provides an overview of all 17 photo spots, complete with example images. The website also offers two tour suggestions for photography enthusiasts, one 5.5 km long and one around 18 km long.
The city encourages tourists to publish their photos on Instagram and tag the city's channel @visitnordhorn. This initiative not only promotes the city but also offers a new incentive for visitors to explore Nordhorn on their own and create their own unique memories.
Instead of installing a large Nordhorn lettering as a new photo motif, the administration suggested focusing on the existing sights of the city. The city of Nordhorn is expanding its tourist offerings with these new photo spots, aiming to give guests the opportunity for the perfect memory photo and to encourage more people to visit this charming city.
The project for the new photo spots in Nordhorn originated from an application made by the citizens' forum in the Nordhorner city council regarding "city branding". The website for the photo spots can be found at www.our website/photospots.
