Car accident in Abaya region leaves child critical, transported to Seym hospital

In a tragic incident that occurred on August 19 around 16:00, a traffic accident in the Urdjar District of the Abai Region left six children in critical condition and claimed the lives of three minor victims.

The accident involved a car driven by a 55-year-old driver, who has a 20-year driving history, according to reports. Medical examination confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.

Six children were near the gate of a house when the accident occurred. The injured girl from Urdjar District was initially transported to the Semey Regional Hospital, while two of the hospitalized children were later sent by air ambulance to Astana for further treatment.

Three children aged 6 to 9 were hospitalized with skull, limb fractures, and internal organ injuries. The youngest victim of the accident was two years old, and the oldest was eight. One girl who was hospitalized remains in critical condition in the district hospital.

At the request of the President, specialists from the capital arrived and performed several operations on the hospitalized children. A comprehensive examination and treatment are being carried out at the Semey Medical University Hospital using modern equipment.

Dulat Karimov, Deputy Director for Pediatrics, and Zhassulan Asetov, Head of the Children's Trauma Department, provided medical assistance and accompanied the girl to the hospital. According to his family, the driver suffered a heart attack at the time of the accident.

The 55-year-old driver, responsible for the accident, was detained immediately after the incident. The injured girl from the Urdjar District was also transported to the pediatric department of the Semey Medical University Hospital for further treatment.
