Car accident results in harm to two women drivers
On Thursday evening, a collision occurred on Liburer Weg towards Libur, just before the Uckendorf exit in Niederkassel. According to the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters, the incident involved two female drivers, a 33-year-old and a 34-year-old.
The 33-year-old woman was driving a Mercedes and intended to turn left onto a property, signalling and slowing down. Due to oncoming traffic, she had to stop, and the 34-year-old woman following her could not stop in time and hit the stationary Mercedes.
Both women were slightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. The 34-year-old woman driving the Toyota Auris will have to answer to a charge of reckless bodily injury in a traffic accident.
The police secured traces at the scene of the collision and interviewed both drivers and witnesses. The total damage from the collision is estimated at around 35,000 euros, and the cars were severely damaged, requiring them to be towed away.
