Car crash on the B9 in Speyer
Early this morning, a car accident occurred on the B9 towards Germersheim, involving two vehicles and resulting in minor injuries to the drivers.
According to reports, a 27-year-old driver was traveling on the B9 around 5:30 AM when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve. The driver collided with a car driven by a 52-year-old man. Both vehicles came to a stop against the guardrail, and both were no longer roadworthy, requiring them to be towed away.
The 52-year-old driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while the 27-year-old driver and his 20-year-old passenger remained unharmed.
Suspicions arose that the 27-year-old driver may have been under the influence of intoxicating substances. A blood sample was taken from the man, and a voluntary urine test reacted positively for THC. As a result, a criminal investigation was initiated against him for endangering traffic safety.
