On the morning of August 27, 2025, an incident took place in Gambach's Brückfeldstraße, Münzenberg, where an unknown man damaged a sunshade on a children's playground. According to reports, the man was seen lying on the sunshade and burning several holes into it. Upon noticing city employees, he fled towards the sports field.

The Central Hesse Police Headquarters, the authority responsible for these incidents, have arrested a 20-year-old man with no fixed address in connection with the damaged sunshade area. He was found near a supermarket by an attentive patrol from Butzbach Police Station, who noticed he matched the witness description.

The man is now being investigated for malicious damage to property in Münzenberg. After completing identification procedures and further police measures, he was released.

In a separate incident, on Monday evening, August 25, 2025, between 21:00 and Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025, at 08:10, a white Mercedes Citan was left unlocked in Friedberg's Gutenbergstraße. The owner of the vehicle discovered that all compartments had been opened and searched, but nothing was stolen.

The police recommend always ensuring that vehicles are locked when leaving them to prevent theft.
