Despite the sunshine, Maryland's casino corners saw a slight dip in revenue during April compared to the same month last year. The state's casino earnings amounted to $162.6 million, slightly down from last April's $163.1 million.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming numbers unveiled that video lottery machines accounted for $115.2 million of the income, a rise from last year's $112.7 million. Unfortunately, table games revenue plummeted, falling from $50.4 million to $47.3 million.

Horseshoe Casino enjoyed an uptick in revenue for April, earning $15.5 million, a 6.2% increase from the previous April. Maryland's most significant revenue-maker, MGM National Harbor, reported $68.6 million, a meager 0.8% increase year-over-year. Ocean Downs Casino scored a 2.6% jump, reporting $7.5 million.

Rocky Gap Casino suffered the heaviest hit, reporting $4 million in revenue, marking a 4.1% drop. Live! Casino & Hotel (down 3.2%) and Hollywood Casino (down 0.6%) also saw declines.

The gaming industry maintained its support for state funds, contributing $70.6 million to state coffers in April, an increase of 1.1% from the previous year. Over $50.9 million of this sum went directly to the Education Trust Fund.

While the specific figures for April 2025 haven't been released yet, the recent trend indicates a potential continuation of the year-over-year decline in casino revenue, although detailed data for any specific month isn't currently available.
