Prior to this, Vanessa posted a picture on her official Instagram account, featuring her and Kobe, with the caption, "We love and miss you and Gigi so much. Sending our love to you. Happy birthday, baby." The post was shared on what would have been Kobe's 47th birthday.
Natalia Bryant, Kobe's eldest daughter, also paid tribute to her father during her college graduation from the University of Southern California. Notably, she wore a stole featuring her father’s trademarked sheath logo, symbolizing a tribute from her and her family to Kobe Bryant. This graduation ceremony took place two months after Vanessa's emotional tribute.
