Celebrating two decades in Namibia, Paratus unveils its LTE and 5G mobile services with audacious ambition
Paratus Launches First Private Mobile Network in Namibia, Powered by LTE and 5G Technologies
Paratus Group, a leading digital technology partner, has made a significant stride in Namibia's digital landscape by launching the country's first private mobile network. This groundbreaking service integrates solutions for unifying mobile, home, and business connectivity, marking a new era of seamless digital experiences.
The new mobile service, in partnership with Nokia, offers a host of advanced features including Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Wi-Fi calling, and the fastest digital activation in the market. It also boasts an affordable and transparent data and voice packages, setting a new standard for digital accessibility.
Paratus Group's investment in Namibia's digital future is evident in the unprecedented N$1.417 billion spent on network infrastructure since 2018, with an additional N$600-million allocated specifically for the development of the new mobile network in the last year.
One third of this investment was dedicated to building a digital technology stack, which integrates all Paratus services into a single customer-centric platform. This streamlined approach aims to simplify regional partnerships and provide a complete connectivity ecosystem. The ecosystem includes advanced LTE network and 5G capabilities, fiber, and Sky-Fi wireless connections.
The new mobile service also leverages the Paratus Express Route, powered by Equiano, to deliver fast and reliable international connectivity with the lowest latency route from Johannesburg to Europe and the USA. This unique footprint ensures smooth cross-border connections, making Paratus Group's Namibian operation the power base for the pan-African Paratus group.
The group's operations span across 15 countries in Africa, running Africa's quality network, the only fully contiguous network across the continent. The new mobile network in Namibia eliminates legacy platforms to provide a seamless and fully digital customer experience.
After more than two decades of operations in Namibia, Paratus Group has evolved into a complete digital lifestyle enabler. The introduction of the first private mobile network in Namibia with LTE and 5G technology, and the development of the Paratus East-West Connect Route and the Paratus Express Routes, are testament to this evolution. The new mobile service aims to further streamline and simplify digital experiences for Namibians, contributing to a brighter, more connected digital future.
This landmark investment in Namibia's digital future, the first private mobile network in the country, is set to revolutionise the way Namibians connect, work, and live.
