Mercedes-Benz Unveils Redesigned Grille and All-New Pure-Electric GLC

Mercedes-Benz is set to make a significant leap forward in electric vehicle technology with the unveiling of the all-new pure-electric GLC on September 7 at the IAA Mobility show in Munich.

The redesigned grille, a central and iconic feature of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, is considered an important step for the brand. The new design, characterized by reduction, clean lines, and technology, is a fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future, making Mercedes-Benz cars instantly recognizable.

Gorden Wagener, the chief design officer, states that the new grille redefines the face of the brand. The wide chrome frame, smoked-glass-effect lattice structure, and integrated contour lighting give the new grille an illuminated work of art quality. An illuminated version of the grille will be available as an option on the new GLC, featuring 942 backlit dots. The central Mercedes-Benz star and the surrounding contour of the panel in the illuminated grille are also illuminated.

The new grille design incorporates LED technology and is intended to convey the brand's DNA. The new GLC with EQ Technology is the first of a completely new family of vehicles featuring MB.OS, the supercomputer powering every next-generation model to come. This new model series will make the world premiere at the IAA Mobility show in Munich on September 7.

Interestingly, the name of the designer responsible for the reinterpretation of the Mercedes-Benz logo remains undisclosed. Despite this, the current model remains the most popular Mercedes-Benz, and the new GLC with EQ Technology is a significant step for Mercedes-Benz, marking the beginning of a new family of vehicles.

The new illuminated grille can be animated, bringing the electric GLC to life. This animation, combined with the sleek design of the new grille, is sure to make the new GLC a standout in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on the all-new pure-electric GLC from Mercedes-Benz.
