In the quiet evening of Sunday, September 13, 2020, a disturbing incident took place on the bike/walking path between Leostraße and Weißenberger Weg in Neuss. A dispute between a dog owner and a cyclist escalated, leading to an attack by the cyclist against the pedestrian.

According to reports, the cyclist responded to the pedestrian's request to turn on the bike's light by attacking him with a glass bottle. The pedestrian sustained a head wound that required medical treatment. The cyclist, described as approximately 25 to 28 years old, slim, speaking German with an accent, wearing an orange-yellow top, and riding a Dutch-style bike, fled towards Weißenberger Weg and could not be found.

The Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. Witnesses are urged to contact Criminal Commissioner 22, phone number 02131 300-0, with any information that could help identify the suspect.
