Charities and Volunteer Organizations to Highlight Helping Opportunities on September 13

The second-annual Community Volunteer Fair is set to return to Alexandria on Saturday, September 13, 202X. This free, family-friendly event will be hosted by Volunteer Alexandria and JustServe at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2810 King Street.

More than 45 nonprofits will be represented at the fair, providing attendees with a diverse selection of volunteer opportunities. Among the participating organizations are LSSNCA, Catholic Charities, Alexandria Tutoring Consortium, and Alexandria Mentoring Partnership.

Nonprofits such as ALIVE!, Alexandria City Public Schools, Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria, and Senior Services of Alexandria will also be present, showcasing their services and the impact they make in the Alexandria community.

The fair aims to connect with the local community, offering something for everyone. Whether you're passionate about education, social services, animal welfare, or the arts, there will be a volunteer opportunity that resonates with you.

Representatives from these nonprofits will be on hand to discuss their work and the ways in which volunteers can get involved. For example, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, Alexandria City Animal Shelter, and Cake4Kids are seeking volunteers to help with animal care, shelter operations, and children's programming, respectively.

In addition to these organisations, attendees can learn about the work of Habitat for Humanity, Campagna Center, Food Rescue US, and many more. The Alexandria Medical Reserve Corp, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Alexandria Seaport Foundation, and Scholarship Fund of Alexandria are just a few of the other nonprofits that will be in attendance.

The fair's goal is to help attendees find a volunteer opportunity that aligns with their interests and passions. To learn more about the volunteer opportunities available and to stay updated on the fair, visit Volunteer Alexandria's website.

Whether you're a long-time resident or new to the area, the Community Volunteer Fair is an excellent opportunity to discover the many ways you can make a difference in the Alexandria community. The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m., so mark your calendars and join us for this exciting event!
