A heartwarming fundraiser event was held on Sunday at the Grand Hall at the Priory on Pittsburgh's North Side, aiming to help the owners of Riley's Pour House in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, rebuild their pub which was destroyed by a fire nearly one year ago.

Over 500 people attended the event, showing a strong community support for the popular Carnegie pub. Co-owner Joe Riley spoke about the emotional impact of the support and outreach received, expressing that it gives him strength to move on.

Mike Darnay, a digital producer and photojournalist at our Pittsburgh, was present at the event. Darnay, who has previously worked for Vox Media and the Mon Valley Independent, often covers overnight breaking news, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and high school sports.

The event featured performances by bands who had previously played at Riley's Pour House, adding to the atmosphere of camaraderie and shared memories.

Despite the progress made by the fundraiser, the investigation into the cause of the fire that destroyed Riley's Pour House is still ongoing. A joint evidence examination of kitchen appliances collected by the insurance company has yet to be scheduled.

The owners of Riley's Pour House express a hope to reopen the pub sometime next year. As they continue to work towards that goal, they are buoyed by the overwhelming support from their community.

In a show of unity and solidarity, the community of Carnegie and beyond gathered to support Riley's Pour House, a testament to the power of community spirit in times of adversity.
