Chelsea and Newcastle United will allegedly compete for the next Arjen Robben-like player, as per a recent report.
In the world of football, transfer rumours are always a hot topic. One such name that has been making waves recently is Karim Adeyemi, a talented winger currently playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Adeyemi, who has been compared to Arjen Robben due to his blistering pace and spellbinding dribbling, is of interest to several top clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle United.
Chelsea, despite already having players like Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, and an upcoming player named Estevao, have expressed a need for another winger. However, the website does not mention any new standalone facts about their interest in Adeyemi or Dortmund's willingness to sell him.
On the other hand, if his move from Nottingham Forest is finalized, Anthony Elanga could compete with Adeyami in Eddie Howe's Newcastle United squad. But, Newcastle United is unlikely to consider Jacob Murphy, who had a productive season with 8 goals and 12 assists in 35 Premier League games last season, as a long-term solution due to his age.
Newcastle United, known for its safer footballing ground compared to Chelsea, according to the website's opinion, has a vacancy on the right flank. If Adeyemi were to join, he could potentially fill that gap.
However, at Stamford Bridge, even Adeyemi's adaptability may not guarantee game time due to the presence of multiple quality players in attacking areas and the possibility of Boehly making more signings.
Interestingly, Dortmund has set a minimum starting price of €65m for Adeyemi, similar to the amount Chelsea paid for Jamie Gittens. This could potentially make a move for Adeyemi a costly affair for any interested club.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund values Adeyemi at over 50 million euros, as SSC Napoli had offered more than that but Adeyemi chose to stay at Dortmund. The German clubs linked with pursuing the transfer of Adeyemi are Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig, and VfB Stuttgart.
As the transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see which club, if any, secures the services of this promising young winger.
