Chicago-based sports network set to debut direct-to-consumer service on November 15th.
Chicago Sports Network Launches New Subscription Streaming Service
Starting November 15, Chicago sports fans can enjoy a new way to connect with their favourite teams with the launch of Chicago Sports Network's (CHSN) subscription streaming service.
CHSN has partnered with ViewLift, an over-the-top technology vendor, to create this unique digital product. The service will be available on the CHSN app for iOS and Android devices, as well as any web browser.
For just $19.99 per month, fans can subscribe to live streams, real-time game coverage, and pre- and post-game coverage for one team. For those who follow all three of Chicago's major teams—the Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox—a monthly subscription of $29.99 grants access to all three.
The service also includes CHSN Live Game Center, offering personalized, on-demand content. CHSN's programming slate includes shows like "The Chicago Lead," "The Big College Football Show," "The Big Pro Football Show presented by the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers," and a simulcast of WSCR radio's "Mully and Haugh" morning show.
In addition to live game coverage, the service offers interviews with athletes and coaches as part of pre- and post-game coverage. Fans can even cast streams to larger screens, including TVs.
A free 7-day trial is available for fans to test the service. Authentication via eligible TV providers will be available in the coming weeks. Fans can purchase the new streaming service by visiting CHSN.com or downloading the app from the iOS App Store or Google Play.
Access to the games via connected TV applications such as Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV will be available after authentication.
CHSN President Jason Coyle stated, "This service is a one-of-a-kind digital product and a next step in our long-term commitment to Chicago sports fans everywhere."
ViewLift has previously created DTC streaming platforms for sports and entertainment clients, including Monumental Sports Network in Washington, the NHL, individual teams, the NBA, NBCUniversal, LIV Golf, Tegna, and others.
With this new streaming service, CHSN continues its expansion on platforms such as Comcast Xfinity, aiming to provide a new way to serve Chicago sports fans.
