Cinematic adaptation of BRZRKR, to be undertaken by Justin Lin and Keanu Reeves
In a recent development, it has been announced that Justin Lin will be helming the upcoming film adaptation of BRZRKR, a comic book series created by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney. This marks Lin's first collaboration with Reeves.
The BRZRKR comic, which became a hit when it launched on Kickstarter, centers around an immortal warrior who has been killing throughout history. In the present day, the character performs missions for the U.S. government in exchange for information about his immortality.
Keanu Reeves is set to star in the movie adaptation, but as of now, production schedules and release dates have yet to be announced. The film is being produced by Netflix.
Alongside the BRZRKR movie, a two-season anime adaptation was also announced in 2021, however, no further updates have been provided regarding its progress.
Meanwhile, Reeves has also teamed up with author China Miéville on a novel titled The Book of Elsewhere, set in an alternate universe. This isn't the first time Reeves has ventured into the world of literature, as the comic series has since become a franchise, including spinoff comics.
As for other big franchises, no details have been released about the future of Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, DC Universe on film and TV, or Doctor Who.
In the meantime, Lin is currently involved with the Charlize Theron/Daniel Craig vehicle Two For the Money. Stay tuned for more updates on the BRZRKR movie and other exciting projects in the world of entertainment.
