City administration in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky intends to enhance the park situated on Tsiolkovsky Avenue.
The city administration of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has announced a significant change in plans for a residential project on Prospekt Cyolkovskogo in the "Horizon" district. Instead of a new residential complex by developer "New Regions," the city is now initiating a project to create a park.
Initially, the residential complex was planned for the site, but due to discussions with nearby residents and an appeal to the regional governor, the decision was made to reclassify the plot as "Publicly Used Greened Areas." This change will allow for the creation of a park or square with amenities, including a children's playground.
The new houses, designed to be comfortable, earthquake-resistant, and safe, will no longer be built on this site. Instead, the city administration, along with developer "New Regions," is searching for an alternative land plot for the residential complex. The name of the alternative site is not yet provided in the available search results.
The changes to the city's General Plan and Land Use and Building Regulations are necessary for the implementation of this initiative. The administration is preparing the necessary documentation to amend the territorial planning documents, which will then be coordinated with federal executive bodies in the Kamchatka region.
Once the documentation is complete, the changes will be presented at public hearings. After public approval, the final decision on changing the General Plan and Land Use and Building Regulations will be made by the City Duma. The completion of all procedures for the park project on Prospekt Cyolkovskogo is planned by the end of August 2025.
In addition to the park, the new plan includes the creation of a green zone for city residents to relax. The new houses, when built, will be designed to harmoniously fit into the city's architecture. The city administration is also coordinating with residents of nearby houses to ensure the new development aligns with their needs and preferences.
This shift in plans marks a commitment by the city administration to prioritising public spaces and community input in urban development. The new park on Prospekt Cyolkovskogo is set to become a welcome addition to the city's greenery and recreational facilities.
