City Administration Launches Mobile City Hall on Wheels
The city of Marburg is set to revolutionise its neighbourhood management with the introduction of a mobile city office, scheduled to launch in the fall. This innovative approach aims to provide a wider range of services to residents across all 18 outer districts of the city.
The mobile city office, equipped with a citizen's briefcase from the Federal Printing Office, will travel to all districts, including the outer districts, offering services such as registration, identification document application, certificate of good conduct, and certificate authentication. This move is a significant departure from the administrative outposts in Cappel, Wehrda, and Marbach, which could only offer a few city office services and were scarcely utilised.
Mayor Spies has stated that city office employees do not wish to perform a social role in the neighbourhood. However, the administrative outposts in these districts have taken on a social role, with local mayors currently being supported by slightly employed staff. In light of this, a neighbourhood management in Cappel is currently being evaluated.
The mobile city office offers an advantage over previous administrative satellite offices, as it can provide a wider range of services and travel to residents in their own communities. Appointment times will be available for the mobile city office, ensuring that residents can access these services conveniently.
Technical and personnel preparations for the mobile city office are currently underway, with potential locations for the citizen's briefcase test including administrative buildings, banks, social affairs service points, nursing homes, and one location in the upper town, as well as in the western and eastern suburban districts.
Despite the excitement surrounding the mobile city office, there is no available information about Simone Soehnel or her role in leading the mobile city administration.
