City Authenticity Awards: Bard's Burgers and Chili in Latonia caters to every burger enthusiast's taste buds
Covington's Authenti-CITY Awards Highlight Local Favourite, Bard's Burgers and Chili
In an unconventional celebration for National Economic Development Week, the City of Covington unveiled the Authenti-CITY awards last week. One of the recipients was Bard's Burgers and Chili, a family-friendly restaurant that has become a beloved staple in the community.
Located at 3620 Decoursey Ave., in Latonia, Bard's Burgers and Chili offers a variety of burger options that keep customers coming back for more. From the classic Purist to the decadent Bardzilla, which boasts eleven 1/3-pound patties, 22 slices of cheese, and two pounds of french fries, there's something for everyone.
The Bardzilla is not for the faint-hearted, but it's this kind of culinary daring that has earned Bard's Burgers and Chili national recognition. In 2016, the restaurant was highlighted by Josh Denny, host of Ginormous Foods on The Food Network.
But Bard's Burgers and Chili isn't just about big burgers. The Starlight Doughnut Lab, another popular dessert option, is made by dropping glazed doughnuts into Southern-style bread pudding and topping it with a Maker's Mark bourbon glaze. Deep-fried Oreos, served with a dusting of powdered sugar and raspberry sauce, are another sweet treat that's hard to resist.
Covington Business Retention and Expansion Manager Patrick Duffy praised Bard's Burgers and Chili, stating that it lives up to the hype. The warm, welcoming, and memorable atmosphere of the restaurant makes it a place where people can gather and enjoy good food.
The Authenti-CITY awards are a part of Covington's Economic Development team's efforts to celebrate businesses that make the city unique. By recognising local favourites like Bard's Burgers and Chili, the city is not only celebrating economic development but also the sense of community that these businesses foster.
Whether you're a long-time resident or a visitor, Bard's Burgers and Chili is a must-visit destination in Covington. So, the next time you're in the area, be sure to stop by and experience the unique flavours that this local gem has to offer.
