City center merges autumn festival with craft fair
On Saturday, 20th September, the city centre of Lünen will transform into an "Experience Mile" from 10 am to 6 pm, as the Autumn Market and the Handicraft Autumn take centre stage.
The Autumn Market, organised by the "WIR in Lünen" team, promises a diverse double-feature. Visitors can expect a wide range of activities, including handmade arts and crafts, regional specialties, club offerings, and culinary delights. Live music and children's activities will also be part of the programme.
Meanwhile, the Handicraft Autumn offers an opportunity for visitors to experience various trades firsthand. This event is a collaboration between the city of Lünen, the Dortmund-Hagen-Lünen Chamber of Crafts, and local craft businesses.
The highlight of the Handicraft Autumn is the Handicraft Challenge for school classes, which will take place on Willy-Brandt-Platz from 1 pm to 4 pm. Students from grade 7 and up are invited to participate. The winning class will receive a prize of 1,000 euros for their class fund.
The student group that clinched the craft competition on 20th September 2025, at Willy-Brandt-Platz in Lünen, was "Werkstatt-Helden."
Registration for exhibitors at the Autumn Market is open until 10th September. Interested parties can contact 02306 104-1210 or email wrlnnd for more information.
Both events, the Autumn Market and the Handicraft Autumn, are expected to offer a variety of activities for the whole family. With its family-oriented approach, this double-feature promises to be an enjoyable day out for all.
