City of Lights' Cultural Summer Spectacle: "Light in Concert" Stages in Bochum and Arnsberg Theaters

On the 9th of August, the Werkstattgalerie of the Bogen and the Kulturbüro will host a special event in Arnsberg. The concert/light performance titled "YENGA & Dunstglas" promises an unforgettable evening of music and visual artistry.

This collaborative project between German-Dutch avant-pop/indie band YENGA and light art duo scheinzeitmenschen premiered at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in May 2024. Since then, it has graced stages at the Hart van Zuid Theater-Festival in Hengelo (NL) and the Pauluskirche in Bochum.

YENGA, formed in 2015, has primarily performed in Germany and the Netherlands. Bassist Niko Dolle, a native of Neheim and an active figure in the local arts scene in Arnsberg, is a member of this dynamic group.

Their latest studio album, "I Think This Escalator Is Working Against Me," released in May 2024, features 9 songs that embody a melancholic yet hopeful sound. The album's themes explore the small and big things of life, personal opening, and rediscovery of suppressed emotions in the crisis-ridden 2020s.

The performance in Arnsberg will feature songs by YENGA, accompanied by an acrylic light sculpture that responds to musical impulses. This interaction between light and sound creates a symphony that is sure to captivate audiences.

Seating is limited for this event, with entry beginning at 6:30 PM. The event is free of charge as part of the Kultursommer, thanks to the support of Sparkasse Mitten im Sauerland.

YENGA's sound is a unique blend of fragmented pop structures and energetic improvisations, with Stella Polaris' vocals and melodies taking center stage. This performance is not to be missed for fans of innovative music and captivating visual arts.

Reservations for the event can be made via kultur@unsere-website. Mark your calendars for the 9th of August and join us for an evening of music and light that promises to be a highlight of this year's Kultursommer in Arnsberg.
