City Rocked by Wave of Thefts, Vandalism; Police Seek Info

Several incidents have occurred in the past week in the city, including break-ins, thefts, and acts of vandalism. The police are investigating these cases and urge anyone with information to come forward.

The week began with a burglary at a fitness studio on Auf der Aue, where unknown persons stole several iPads just before 5 AM on Sunday. Later that day, a camper parked on Anemonenweg was targeted, with a navigation device and cash stolen between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, the office of the Diakonie Mark-Ruhr on Bodelschwinghstraße was broken into between 2:20 and 2:34 AM, resulting in damaged doors. Meanwhile, an encounter outside a business on Friday ended with mutual complaints and fights between two women, aged 64 and 44.

Saturday evening saw the theft of an e-scooter on Seilerseestraße around 10:20 PM. Later that night, a burglar entered an apartment on Ludorffstraße and stole jewelry. In a separate incident, pickpockets struck in a supermarket on Baarstraße, stealing a wallet from an 83-year-old customer.

A portable toilet on Breslauer Street was set on fire by unknown persons on Friday around 11 p.m. Attempts were also made to break into an office on Nohlstraße between Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Additionally, an unknown woman entered a multi-family house on Hohler Weg around 1 AM on Saturday, damaging a basement door before being arrested for public intoxication and resisting police.
