City-wide Autonomous Transportation in Hesse Municipalities

In an exciting leap towards the future of public transportation, the pioneering autonomous vehicle testing project KIRA has officially begun operations in two German municipalities.

Led by Annette Lübbers, the project involves the deployment of six self-driving shuttles, developed in collaboration with a leading technology partner in 2022. These self-driving vehicles, externally indistinguishable from regular passenger cars, can transport up to three passengers to their desired destination.

The self-driving shuttles are currently operating under a testing permit from the relevant authorities. Interested individuals who already have a subscription can log in to use the service, while new subscribers can find the subscription cost details on the project's website. The subscription fee for KIRA is 96 Euros per year, inclusive of VAT.

The Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund (RMV) is the organisation responsible for this groundbreaking project. KIRA is a testament to their commitment to exploring the potential integration of autonomous vehicles into public transportation systems.

For those who wish to make a non-binding inquiry for special conditions, there is an option available on the project's website. To request an offer, simply click on "Request offer now".

The KIRA project marks a significant step forward in the realm of autonomous vehicles and public transportation, offering a glimpse into the possibilities of the future. As the shuttles navigate the streets, they are not just vehicles, but a symbol of progress and innovation.
